Are you visiting Westbrook for the first time?  Have you lived here your whole life but don’t know its rich history?  Do you live far away but are considering a visit to Westbrook?  If so, this fun, interactive walking tour is designed for you!  You can take a self-guided tour along the beach or through the quaint center of town, or walk beneath a canopy of trees as you explore the historical buildings and cemeteries that Westbrook has to offer.  Discover the graves of ship captains and reverends, and take a peek into the stories of people long gone to explore the history of our tiny town.

Choose one of three great walking tours:

This tour travels along Boston Post Road, from the Westbrook Historical Society on the town green to Water’s Edge Resort and Spa. This short walk borders the Boston Post Road and passes the Westbrook Public Library and the Post Office as well as the Oxford Academy School, which dates back to the 18th century. It ends at the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa, the only five-star resort in Connecticut. You can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at Julie’s Cup of Joe on your way back to the Town Center. You can choose whether to start your tour at the Historical Society or at Water’s Edge. Simply scroll to the end of the tour and work your way to the beginning.

This tour takes a leisurely 25-30 minutes, and it is 0.70 miles long.
