Residents must hire trash hauler to dispose of household trash The transfer station is on McVeagh Road. Transfer station stickers are included in the annual tax bill or they may be obtained at the First Selectman's Office.

Estuary Region Household Hazardous Waste Facility
The Estuary Region Household Hazardous Waste Facility is now closed for the season. The facility will reopen on Saturday, May 7, 2008 and remain open on selected Saturdays through October 2008. Please safely store your household hazardous wastes (pesticides, cleaners, and other chemical products) until the HHW Facility re-opens in May. Materials should be kept out of reach of children and pets, and if flammable, kept away from heat sources. The Estuary Region Household Hazardous Waste Facility collections serve household residents of Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook
