Public Health Alert: COVID-19

Dear Westbrook Community,

The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) has updated the Town of Westbrook’s 14-day rolling average of new cases per 100,000 population per day to 32, one of the lowest in Middlesex County. This must motivate all of us to continue practicing the essential public health measures of social distancing, wearing a mask, hand washing, and staying home if feeling ill.

Total number of COVID-19 cases among Westbrook residents: 242

Waiting for the results of your COVID-19 test?

Stay home and away from others while you wait! Do not go to work. Do not go to school!

In the event of an unexpected positive result, staying home and away from others will help to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19 Vaccine

The State of Connecticut is currently in Phase 1A of statewide vaccine roll-out.

Eligible citizens for Phase 1A include healthcare personnel, long-term care facility residents, and medical first responders. Eligible Westbrook Phase 1A personnel have received their first round of vaccination, including Westbrook Fire Department, Westbrook Police Officers, Westbrook Ambulance Associations, Westbrook Visiting Nurses, and Westbrook Public Schools Nurses!

Phase 1B is coming soon!

Three primary groups will be eligible for the vaccine in Phase 1B:

--Individuals aged 75+

--Front line essential workers, such as education, public safety, transportation, food and grocery, etc

--Individuals and staff in congregate settings
