On March 12, Governor Lamont issued an executive order stating that due to the risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19 appears to be higher for individuals who are 60 years of age or older and for those who have chronic health conditions; and that there is an increased risk of rapid spread of COVID-19 among persons who are in congregate settings.
I have been advised to suspend programs with 20 or more people in attendance and ALL MEAL SERVICE until further notice.
After consulting with our Director of Health because our space in the Senior Center is considerably smaller than most Senior Centers in this area, and multiple programs are held in this one area at the same time, it is best to err on the side of caution.
It is recommended that group activities have participants at least 6 feet apart while in attendance of these programs.
I will make every effort to find the appropriate setting within the Town Hall to maintain regularly scheduled programs with less than 20 participants until I am directed otherwise.
