The Connecticut Department of Agriculture provides low income seniors with checks that can be exchanged for eligible foods at farmers’ markets. Due to the ongoing pandemic, these checks will not be ready for distribution until around the 2nd week of July.
Eligibility Guidelines: The individual is 60 years of age or older, OR is a disabled individual under the age of 60 living in housing facilities occupied primarily by older individuals where congregate nutrition services are provided. The 2020 income eligibility guidelines are yet to be determined.
Eligible Products: You may purchase CT grown fruits, vegetables, fresh cut herbs and honey.
